In the following months I will be collecting voting records on the Nanny State politicians that voted for the smoking Ban. I will cover the nanny state policies they sponsored, voted for and the wasteful spending they voted for or backed.
Starting with My representitive the Nanny Republican
Other proposals coauthored or cosponsored by Rep. Mursau:
Time and time again he votes to demonize those who drink. Yes it is wrong to drive drunk and those that harm others while drunk should be punished. The bottom line is that at the levels of 0.08 a person is hardly impaired. Yet this nanny is a prohibitionist. Two drinks within an hour and you are busted. If this was a bill keeping hard core drunks off the road it would be different. But these laws would make people who were busted at minimal levels felons. These laws are not to protect the public but to modify human behavior through social engineering and draconian laws.
Assembly bill 35An Act to create 118.134 of the statutes; relating to: the use of race-based names, nicknames, logos, and mascots by school boards, requiring the exercise of rule-making authority, and providing a penalty. (FE)
Assembly Bill 79
Makes Third offense DWI a Felony. I only increases the time served by 30 days but by making it a felony you lose your right to vote, own guns, hunt, etc etc etc. How many people would have opted for a jury trial if they knew that a conviction 10,20 30 years ago would result in a felony down the road?
Assembly Bill 90
no person may operate a motorboat, other than a personal watercraft, at a speed in excess of slow−no−wake within 100 feet of the shoreline of any lake.
2. In its ordinances enacted under s. 30.77, a city, village, town, public inland lake protection and rehabilitation district, or a town sanitary district may provide that the prohibition in subd 1. does not apply.
SECTION 3. 30.66 (3) (ar) of the statutes is created to read:
30.66 (3) (ar) No person may operate a personal watercraft at a speed in excess of slow−no−wake within 200 feet of the shoreline of any lake.
